Sunday Ride depicts the Bethlehem Lutheran Church near Waynesboro, Virginia. The church was built and dedicated in 1854 in the small town of Ladd.
This renowned American artist found inspiration by the life and culture of the Amish and Mennonite people in the area. She embraced local landscapes, lifestyles, and traditions and felt that the life and culture she was part of held an important message for modern society: live simply and enjoy every moment!
This plate is from the American Silhouettes series It is the third art plate in the Valley Life series and is part of a twelve plate collection. It measures 8 1/4″ wide and has hanger attached on back. It was handcrafted by the Anna Perenna company in Selb, Bavaria Germany.
